Downtown Springfield cafe reopens today - offering specials, raffles

Un Mundo Cafe will be reopening tonight after the cafe had to temporary close due to a burst pipe that flooded the restaurant and the Clark County Heritage Center.

The cafe will hold a, “grand reopening,” celebration from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

“We are so excited to be open,” said Un Mundo Cafe Owner and operator Duke Level. “We miss our customers and all this happening to finally be open feels great.”

In honor of the reopening, Un Mundo Cafe will offer specials including; new gourmet hot dogs - a buy one, get one free, local draft beers for $4 and raffles and prizes including Un Mundo T-shirts, commuter mugs and gift cards for $25, $50 and $100.

“It should be a good time and people seem very excited to come out to see us,” Level said.

Un Mundo Cafe is inside the Clark County Heritage Center, located at 117 S. Fountain Ave. in Springfield.

Level said a lot of work had to be done to ensure the space was ready to open after flooding. Contractors had to repair drywall and repaint.

Tonight will also mark downtown Springfield’s, “First Friday,” celebration.

Local businesses participating in “First Friday” and offering specials include; Un Mundo Cafe, Ash + Mantle Co., Mela Urban Bistro, Salato Deli, Le Torte Dolci, Champion City Guide + Supply, Sip & Dipity Paint Bar, Buckeye Lodge and Mother Stewart’s Brewing Company.
