Downtown natural hair and beauty boutique Puff Apothecary will open early next month in its new Oregon District salon.
The Dayton Daily News first reported the move in August, since which Puff Apothecary owner Bethany Ramsey and the property owner have renovated the space at 605 E. 5th Street, according to a statement. The boutique was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Miami Valley Community Action Partnership to expand to offer hair styling services.
It will have an invite-only soft opening July 5 before an official opening Saturday for Independence District Day.
The company will use its natural-based products to define curls and will provide braiding and loc services. It will also expand its merchandise with more plant based oils, ayurvedic plant powders like henna and shea butter.
“We love the area and historic building,” said Bethany Ramsey, owner of Puff Apothecary. “We want to provide every client with an amazing downtown experience and there is no better place to do that than in the Oregon District. Many people will take a whole day off for their hair and we’re so happy that beyond our space, our clients can have access to
wonderful dining and shopping experiences within walking distance of our new location.”
Before the move, Puff Apothecary launched in the St. Clair Lofts building at 37 S. Saint Clair St.
The boutique salon will be open Wednesday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
