Recall alert: Appliances, furniture and more

Potentially dangerous ovens, chairs and vacuums are among the latest recalled products, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

BlueStar and Big Chill gas ranges and wall ovens are under recall after seven reports of burns and 51 reports of flames or flares.

The convection oven fan on the recalled units may cause gas to ignite. 

Don’t use the fan and contact Prizer-Painter Stove Works at 800-449-8691 to schedule a free repair.

DEVELOPING: 19-year old dishwasher shot and killed

One person has been injured by Jimco Outdoor Folding Bistro Chairs, which are now under recall. 

There are five reports of the chairs breaking, with one person getting a cut on the leg and a bruised wrist in a fall. 

The chairs in gray and teak were sold individually at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and in a set of two at HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post, according to the CPSC.

Contact Jimco Lamp & Manufacturing Company at 800-643-0092 to return the chairs for a full refund.  

Hurricane in Ohio: 10-year anniversary photos

Hartley Flip Daybeds by Cost Plus World Market are being recalled because they are a fire hazard.

No one has been hurt, but the bottom cushion on the daybeds with the SKU/UPC 535790/00000025357905 doesn’t meet federal flammability standards. 

Don’t use the recalled beds and contact Cost Plus at 877-967-5362 for a free replacement cushion. 

Some utility vehicles by John Deere are under recall because the throttle can stick and cause you to crash. 

There are two reports of the throttle cable sticking on the XUV590 and XUV590 S4 Gator utility vehicles with multiple serial numbers, which can be found here.

No one has been hurt, but don’t ride the recalled vehicles and contact John Deere at 800-537-8233 for a free inspection and repair.  

RECALL ALERT: GM SUVs and pick ups 

Some RIDGID Wet/Dry vacs are being recalled because exposed wiring in the on/off switches may shock you.

No one has been injured by the RIDGID NXT HD06000 or HD09000, but don’t use them and contact Emerson Tool Company at 888-847-8718 for a free replacement assembly.
