Burger King, Popeyes owner plans to open 14K new restaurants

The owner of Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes plans to open 14,000 new resaturants over the next eight to 10 years.

The owner of Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes plans to open 14,000 new resaturants over the next eight to 10 years.

Restaurant Brands International Inc. plans to open 14,000 new restaurants as it continues strong growth since 2010.

The company which owns Burger King, Tim Hortons and Popeyes plans to grow from 26,000 stores currently to 40,000 over the next eight to 10 years. In 2010, the company had 12,000 stores, according to a company statement.

Restaurant Brands International will capitalize on long-term growth in the fast food market, the company said. The burger quick serve market is expected to grow 5 percent and the chicken and coffee markets are expected to grow 6 percent annually for the next five years.

“RBI is fundamentally a growth company, with three amazing, iconic brands that we believe have a very long runway for growth - both at home and around the world,” said Jose Cil, CEO of RBI.
