Build-A-Bear will sell its 2019 National Teddy in Walmart stores this year.

For the first time ever, Build-A-Bear Workshop will sell its 2019 limited-edition collectible National Teddy at Walmart stores.

During a three-day National Teddy Bear Day celebration Sept. 7 through 9, Build-A-Bear will sell its 2019 National Teddy for $6.50 at its 450 stores and in 2,000 Walmart stores in the United States. Customers will also be able to make their own animals at the Build-A-Bear locations, according to a statement.

There will be other interactive events at the workshops and “retailtainment” at the Walmart store, the statement said.

Build-A-Bear’s mascot Bearemy will also be visiting stores, iconic landmarks and local communities Sept. 8. For every photo shared with Bearemy using the #nationalteddybearday through Sept. 9, the Build-A-Bear Foundation will donate to a teddy bear to charitable organizations including the United Way, up to 50,000 teddy bears globally.

“We are pleased to once again lead the celebration of National Teddy Bear Day and honored to work with Walmart on our first-ever national collaboration to make this the biggest event yet,” said Sharon Price John, Build-A-Bear Workshop president and CEO.
