Steak N’ Shake spokeswoman Judy Kadylak originally told this news organization Thursday morning the restaurant was temporarily closed. This afternoon, Kadylak confirmed the restaurant closed temporarily on Wednesday due to a staffing issue.

Other Dayton-area Steak N’ Shake restaurants have shut down temporarily with no word on when they would reopen, including in Englewood and Butler Twp.
If Dayton follows the same pattern as the Cincinnati area, more temporary closings may be on the horizon. Ten of the 12 restaurants in Butler, Warren, Hamilton and Clermont counties are now closed temporarily; only the Middletown and Eastgate locations are currently serving customers.

In August 2018, the 621-unit Steak ‘n Shake chain announced it would offer potential franchise partners who pay $10,000 and who commit to a six-month training program the chance to own what is now a corporate-operated Steak ‘n Shake restaurant.
There are Steak N’ Shake restaurants in Fairborn, Huber Heights, Springfield, Moraine, Miamisburg and several in Dayton.
