H.S. Results for 3/30: Painter gets 700th career victory

Alter edged Waynesville 3-2 in boys tennis, giving Alter head coach Charlie Painter his 700th career victory on Thursday.

Painter began coaching tennis at Carroll High School and has had stints at Franklin, Fenwick, Oakwood, Beavercreek, Alter and Wright State over his 31-year career.

Adam White defeated Daniel Papenak in first singles, and Aiden Faessler and Austin Schockman picked up victories to help Alter sweep the singles portion.

The teams of Ryan Teeters/Ben Muth and Seth Sturgill/David Muth both notched wins in the doubles matches for Waynesville.

Alter improved to 3-2.

Boys Tennis

Moeller 4, Fairmont 1: Murad Nawaz earned a 6-2 6-1 win in first singles but Fairmont fell to Moeller in this OTCA Tournament match.

Tecumseh 3, Urbana 2: Mitchell Foland and Christian Hunt each notched singles wins for Tecumseh. Abe Angles had a win in third singles for Urbana.

Valley View 5, Chaminade Julienne 0: Justin DeVilobiss beat Will Marchall (6-2 6-2) in the first singles match and Chase Midkiff and Ian Barnett also had singles wins for Valley View.

Fenwick 5, Ross 0: Dylan Sagan rallied with a 10-7 tiebreaker to beat Justin Bolin in first singles. Matt Page and Tim Erhart also notched singles victories for Fenwick.

Badin 5, Monroe 0: Noah Connaughton and the doubles team of Evan Golden and Johnny Schaller swept their matches for Badin.

Xenia Legacy Christian 4, Carroll 1: Ethan Croucher won his first singles match by scores of 6-1 and 6-4 and Morgan Bryant won in third singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2 for XLC.

Baseball

Centerville 10, Troy 4: Alex Firsdon picked up the win, Joey Hecht notched the save and Jared Lieberman doubled and had a RBI for Centerville in the road win.

West Carrollton 5, Dayton Christian 2: Noah Martin doubled at the plate and earned the win on the mound and Hunter Hughes plated a pair of runs for West Carrollton.

Springboro 4, Western Brown 0: Tyler Kean tossed six innings of shutout ball, striking out eight, and Justin McConnell and Ryan Little each drove in a run to pace ‘Boro.

Oakwood 19, Monroe 9: Hugh Conard picked up his first win of the season on the mound for Oakwood.

Southeastern 17, Greeneview 0: Andrew Lyons struck out five in a no-hitter over five innings and Wes Earles went 3-for-4 and drove in five runs for Southeastern.

Northeastern 2, Mechanicsburg 0: Aaron Phillips punched out ten in the win and Mac Davis and Connor Obee each went 2-for-4 for Northeastern. Caleb Newsome struck out ten for Mechanicsburg.

Tri-County North 11, Bradford 1: Tanner Booth struck out six and earned the win on the mound and went 3-for-4 with three RBI. Bo Hendrickson also went 3-for-4 with two RBI for TCN.

Arcanum 8, Twin Valley South 5: Wade Meeks went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and collected the win on the mound for Arcanum. Ben Sease and Evan Atchley drove in a pair of runs apiece to contribute to the win.

Miami East 4, Mississinawa Valley 2: Cameron Coomes plated a pair of runs and Adam Ott collected two hits to lead East. Cody Dirksen went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Mississinawa.

Softball

Lebanon 12, Hudson 1: Molly Osborne and Alex Gibson both homered and drove in two, Chloe Allen tallied a triple and three RBI and Kat Frank struck out eight to pick up the win on the mound for Lebanon.

Miamisburg 10, Kings 1: Aubrey Azbill paced Miamisburg, scattering five hits and punching out six and also going 2-for-3 with a home run. MacKenzie Frantz was 3-for-4 and Emily Kepple was 2-for-4 with two RBI for ‘Burg.

Fenwick 12, Middletown Christian 2: Annabelle Thomas went 3-for-3 with a home run and seven RBI and Jessica Finley picked up the win on the mound for Fenwick, scattering three hits and striking out five.

Monroe 19, Oakwood 0: Alexis Arnold was 4-for-4 with three RBI and Faith Hensley and Sarah Eschmeyer each went 3-for-3 with three RBI to lead Monroe. Kylie Neff had a pair of hits for Oakwood.

Kenton Ridge 14, Springfield 0: Carly Turner struck out eight and went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI to lead KR. Sierra Williams was 2-for-2 for Springfield.

Greenon 5, Fairborn 4: Taylor Rice was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Riley Davis also went 2-for-3 for Fairborn in the close loss.

Fairbanks 5, Triad 4: Brianna Eaton was 2-for-3 and Abby Ehrenborg was 2-for-4 in a losing effort for Triad.

National Trail 4, Franklin Monroe 1: Ariel Lee and Kerestin Nugent each went 3-for-3 with a RBI and Elizabeth Glander picked up her first win on the mound for NT.

Mississinawa Valley 12, Miami East 11: Mississinawa scored twice in the top of the seventh to tie the game then added five runs in the eighth to take the lead.

Boys Volleyball

Alter 3, McNicholas 0: Josh Kabel racked up 29 assists with eight digs, Jason Hascher had 12 kills and four blocks and Andrew Rose added eight kills with five aces for Alter.
