Prep roundup: Graham girls golfers go 12-0

VANDALIA — Graham High School’s Jessie Jordan was medalist with a 36 to help the Falcons edge Tippecanoe 174-176 in a battle of undefeated girls golf teams at Cassel Hills Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 17.

Ellia Sliwiak shot a 41, Lindsey Phillips had a 48 and Gretchen Greenlee added a 49 for the Falcons. Graham finished its first undefeated season in school history with a record of 12-0 and 7-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference.

Boys golf

Kyle Furlong was the medalist with his second-straight score of 33, Scott Rogers shot a 37, Kyle Jeffers had a 38 and Kevin Loney added a 39 as Tecumseh (12-2, 8-1 CBC) beat Shawnee 147-159. Clark Engle, Derek Tincher and Jeff Hall all shot a 39 for the Braves (6-5, 4-5 CBC).

• Ben Rutan shot a 36 as West Liberty-Salem beat Triad 159-185 to finish the regular season undefeated with an 11-0 record and a 7-0 record in the Ohio Heritage Conference.

• Cameron Thomas shot a 37 and Daniel Lenk added a 39 as Northeastern (13-6, 6-1 OHC) beat Greeneview 161-215.

Volleyball

Lindsey Butterfield had 15 kills and Danielle Schofield added 25 assists and 12 digs as Springfield (8-0) won its Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Division opener over Fairmont 25-14, 25-20, 25-21.

• Southeastern beat Cedarville 25-10, 25-16, 25-20. Rhianna Wyss had 13 digs and Brianna Toops had 12 kills for the Trojans (5-3, 4-2 OHC). Mackenzie McMahan had five kills and two aces for the Indians.

• Darcie Zirkle had 12 kills, 14 assists and 21 digs, Siara Mitchell added 13 kills, 11 blocks and Darbie Zirkle had 13 blocks as Graham (5-2, 4-1 CBC) outlasted Northwestern 23-25, 25-14, 20-25, 26-24, 15-8.

• Kelsey Eastham had nine kills and seven aces and Makenzie Lasse added 16 assists as Urbana (7-1, 4-0 CBC) beat Benjamin Logan 27-25, 25-19, 25-15.

Boys soccer

Rylee Woods had two goals and an assist and Michael Canty added a goal and two assists as Greeneview (3-4, 2-0 OHC) beat Northeastern 4-0.

Girls soccer

Alyssa Neff’s first-half goal was the only score of the game as West Liberty-Salem (5-2-1, 3-0 OHC) defeated Triad 1-0. Shelbe Ertel kept the Cardinals in the game with 25 saves.

Girls tennis

Leah Ann Miller, Frannie Trempe and Lisa Lauf all won in straight sets in singles action as Catholic Central (11-2) beat Northeastern 4-1 to clinch its second straight OHC title.
