McCohn, Salhieh set school marks with six goals

SPRINGFIELD — Northeastern High School sophomore Haley McCohn and Kenton Ridge senior Mohammad Salhieh each set school records for most goals in a game with six in prep soccer action on Monday, Sept. 14.

McCohn had six goals and Jessica Rebert added five goals and two assists for the Jets, who beat Dayton Northridge 14-0 to improve to 4-2 overall.

The Jets had five different players with goals and nine different players with assists.

Salhieh had six goals in an 8-0 victory over Indian Lake in Central Buckeye Conference action. Junior Ben Bowman added a goal and two assists for the Cougars (4-1, 3-0 CBC).

• Graham’s Alex Mannier had three goals and Alex Taylor had two as the Falcons beat Shawnee 5-1 to improve to 4-1 and 2-1 in the CBC in girls soccer.

• Caleb Raines had four goals and Darian Rossitto had two as Northeastern beat Emmanuel Christian 8-4 in boys soccer.

Volleyball: Lauren Brown had 22 kills and 17 digs as Triad beat Southeastern 23-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-18. Erika Graves added 43 assists for the Cardinals (5-3, 4-1 OHC).

• Brittany Markley had 20 digs, 12 kills and 11 aces and Megan Wagner added 44 assists as Northeastern outlasted Greeneview in a thriller 25-18, 19-25, 24-16, 25-22, 17-15.

• Paige Parker had 11 kills and Becka Peterson added nine kills as West Liberty-Salem (7-0, 5-0 OHC) stopped Cedarville 25-15, 25-12, 25-10. Kayla Peterson served 24 points and had 26 assists for the Tigers.

Boys golf: Tecumseh’s Kyle Furlong shot 34, while Scott Rogers added a 35 as the Arrows improved to 10-2 and 6-1 CBC, beating Bellefontaine 145-168 at Sugar Isle.

Kyle Jeffers had a 37 and Zach Rapp added a 39 as the Arrows were just two strokes off the nine-hole school record of 143.

• Kenton Ridge’s Tony Delledonne shot 37 and Clay Portz added a 39 as the Cougars beat Tippecanoe 159-169 at Reid North, improving to 12-0 and 7-0 CBC.

• Shawnee’s Ryan Fisher shot a career-best 35 to go with Clark Engle’s 35 as the Braves beat Stebbins 151-178 at Sugar Isle.

• Dylan Anderson shot a 40 and Zach Gerlach had a 41 as Greenon (12-1, 8-0 CBC) held off Northwestern 165-168. Tyler Marton had a 39 for the Warriors (4-8, 3-6).
