High school baseball returns to Fifth Third Field

A series of doubleheaders and 13 high school baseball games are scheduled to be played at Fifth Third Field this season. It’s the 12th straight season the Dayton Dragons stadium has been the site of fund-raising games for area teams.

Opening play is a doubleheader on Friday, April 14: Urbana vs. Greenon at 4:30 p.m. and West Liberty-Salem vs. DeGraff Riverside at 7 p.m. All the games are free to spectators.

Gates will open 30 minutes before the day’s first game. Participating teams are allowed to provide their own announcers, cheers squads and national anthem singers. The teams also sell Dragons tickets with a proceed going toward their programs.

Sat., April 15: Tippecanoe vs. Oakwood, 1 p.m.

Sat., April 15: Bradford vs. Mississinawa Valley, 4 p.m.

Fri., April 21: Wayne vs. Lebanon, 4:30 p.m.

Fri., April 21: Franklin-Monroe vs. Arcanum, 7 p.m.

Sat., April 22: Beavercreek vs. Fairborn, 1 p.m.

Sat., April 22: Greenville vs. West Carrollton, 4 p.m.

Sun., April 23: Covington vs. St. Henry, 4 p.m.

Mon., April 24: Middletown vs. Lakota East, 7 p.m.

Tue., May 2: Dayton Christian vs. Troy Christian, 7 p.m.

Wed., May 3: Springfield vs. Brookville, 7 p.m.

Thu., May 4: Milton-Union vs. Lehman Catholic, 7 p.m.
