Fantasy Football: Bengals’ Mixon catches eye of ‘experts’

Bengals rookie running back set to make a splash?

So the Bengals will open training camp three weeks from today, but there’s no sense keeping the lights dark in your war room if you’re a fantasy footballer, right? There are impending drafts to obsess about, after all, and as Cincinnati fans do their due diligence, they’ll see the name of rookie running back Joe Mixon come up frequently in research.

The folks hammering out Pro Football Weekley’s Fantasy Football Magazine wonder aloud whether or not the second-round NFL draft choice would be a wise pick. All they’ve got to go on now is his college career as a Sooner.

There’s plenty more about Cincinnati players to be found in there, yet fantasizers are likely to notice as much discussion about Mixon as any Bengal.

Elsewhere, the Fantasy Footballers suggest that, "Mixon . . . showed he can be a do-it-all running back; a true "bell cow."

Those people, who introduce the concept of Running Back by Committee (RBBC) as the bane of existence for  fantasy footballers, write that, "The players standing in his way are Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard."

Maybe not for long.

In their opinion, Hill is trending downward and Bernard is, of course, trying to come back from a torn knee ACL. In sum, they suggest that among Cincy backs Mixon should be drafted sooner rather than later.

Not to be left out of this super scientific discussion, EPSN’s fantasy hacks weigh in as well:

If this isn’t enough to stoke your football hot stoves for a while, you’re hopeless.
