Clark State names new AD

Clark State Community College announced Ken Laake as its new director of athletics and student life on Tuesday.

“Clark State is thrilled to have someone with Ken’s background lead both the Eagles athletics program as well as student life initiatives,” Dr. Jo Alice Blondin, Clark State president, said in a release.

Laake has been the athletic director at Miami Valley School since 2006. MVS won its first all-sports championship in the Metro Buckeye Conference in 2011. Laake was the winner of the 2006 Horizon Award, given by the Southwest Ohio Athletic Directors Association for a “Rising Star” in the field of interscholastic athletics.

During his tenure at MVS, Laake also oversaw improvements to facilities, most notably the installation of a multi-use artificial turf field. He also was involved in the reorganization of the school’s weight room and renovations to the Lofino Lobby center. Laake also helped design the MVS athletic logo.

Laake will begin his new position July 1.
