Anthony Grant a candidate for national coach of the year award

Winner will be announced in April

Dayton Flyers head coach Anthony Grant was one of 15 coaches named to the late-season watch list for the Naismith Coach of the Year award on Friday.

Ten semifinalists will be announced March 6. Finalists will be announced March 18. The winner will be named April 5 at the Naismith Awards Brunch in Atlanta.

Grant has led the Flyers to their best record ever through 26 games (24-2) and their best ranking, No. 5, since the 1950s. At 13-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, Dayton has a two-game lead with five games to play. It plays Duquesne at 2 p.m. Saturday at UD Arena.
