Town re-thinks slogan, 'Land of Rape and Honey'

Signs going into town raise concerns

"It's been both famous and infamous," Tisdale economic development director Sean Wallace told CBC News. "There's passionate people who believe it should be changed and passionate people who believe it shouldn't be changed," Wallace continued.

A new survey is asking residents to choose between the old moniker and several other possibilities. A few of them are;

Hub of the Northeast.

A Place to Grow.

A Place to Bee.

Land of Canola and Honey.

The city admits both rapeseed and honey production are now a small part of the economic engine of the region.
