Springfield police: Man found dead in parking lot from self-inflicted wound

A report of a man shot in a Springfield business parking lot prompted a large police presence, and investigators said the man died from an apparent self-inflicted wound.

The man reportedly drove into the South Tuttle Road Walmart parking lot in Springfield on Wednesday.

Springfield police received a report of a man with a gunshot wound and responded to the store just after noon.

Once on the scene, officers determined that the injury was self-inflicted and that the man had died.
