Rain to move in tonight, early Saturday

Rain returns in the morning but no severe weather is expected this weekend.

“what I am seeing on radar tells me we just have some off and on showers through the day although more in the morning than afternoon,” said Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson.

Some thunder is possible but there’s not enough warmth or energy for anything more than that, according to Simpson.

The high temperature will be 72 for Saturday. Showers should taper off into early evening, then clouds will gradually break.

“We’ll see temperatures drop into the low 50s Sunday morning,” Simpson said. “The record Sunday is 51 and we might get awfully close. It will all depend on how much clearing we have.”

The sun will be out Sunday morning leading to a mostly cloudy afternoon.

“Any showers Sunday will be confined to the northern Miami Valley in the late afternoon and early evening, and they should be light,” Simpson said.

Sunday’s expected high is 70. Monday should be quite sunny with a start again in the 50s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Showers are possible late Tuesday and Wednesday with temperatures returning to the low 80s.
