A social media photo of a man kneeling on a 2-year-old boy’s neck in Moorefield Twp. is under review by the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was alerted Tuesday to the post, which included information that the image was related to national protests following the death of George Floyd, according to a release from sheriff’s Lt. Kristopher Shultz.

Investigators identified the man in the photo as 20-year-old Isaiah Jackson. He was immediately taken into custody because he was wanted by the parole authority from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction, deputies said. He is now held in the Clark County Jail.

The child was evaluated at a local hospital but did not suffer any injuries. His mother told deputies “she was unaware of the photo having been taken, or its contents,” the release stated.

The prosecutor’s office will “provide a determination of the scope and breadth of the felony charges” Jackson likely will face, Shultz stated.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident, which also involved several other people, the sheriff’s office said.
