Skies are cloudy with rain, and possibly some snowflakes, expected overnight with temperatures falling to the mid-30s, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Friday will start with rain and a wintry mix, however, by Friday afternoon and evening isolated snow showers are possible.

“Some snow showers may be heavy thereby leading to a rapid drop in visibility and slippery roads,” the NWS said.

In total, the NWS predicted less than half an inch of snow by Friday night, which will see overnight temperatures fall to the upper 20s.

A chance of snow continues through the day Saturday, with breezy winds under largely cloudy skies. The NWS said snow amounts would be less than a half inch, but it will be cold with a high around 35 degrees.

Saturday night, the NWS predicted only a slight chance of snow during the night. It will be breezy with overnight temperatures in the upper 20s.
