This year the full moon on Jan. 1 becomes full at about 9:24 p.m.
"The moon will rise around 5:20 p.m. Monday night meaning it will be out big and bright all night long," Zontini said.
No clouds should block your view of this "super" full moon but it will be very cold. This full supermoon is the first of two in January.
On Jan. 31, another full supermoon will occur. Since it is the second full moon in one month, it will be known as a full Blue Supermoon, Zontini said.
