A man that was shot multiple times on Monday night in Springfield is no longer listed as a patient at the hospital.

Officers were dispatched around 6:05 p.m. on Monday to the 800 block of Cedar Street in reference to a man that was shot, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they were able to speak with the victim.

“Officers observed that (the victim) was awake, conscious and breathing, but seriously wounded from an unknown number of gunshot wounds,” the report stated.

At this time, an officer walked the victim outside of the house to wait for medics to arrive and talked with him to keep him conscious and alert.

Cedar Street was blocked at North Shaffer Street for police to investigate.

The victim was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center and later taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight.

“While at SRMC, it was determined that (the victim) would require a higher level of care and CareFlight was called,” the report stated.

The victim’s condition is unknown at this time, but a Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson said Tuesday he was not listed as a patient.

It is unknown how many times the victim was shot, who shot him or what caliber weapon was used, the report stated.

No suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this shooting.
