The Springfield store is located at 821 Belmont Ave., and the chain also has operations in South Charleston and Medway. The company’s corporate offices are located in Fremont, Ohio, and Secor estimated the company has about 430 full-time empoloyees at approximately 25 locations throughout Ohio.

The Springfield location will not close, but Secor said retail sales of items like dog bowls, rabbit feed and other products are decreasing and other local businesses offer similar products. Closing the retail operations in Springfield could also provide more space for the company’s energy products. Sunrise delivers fuel and other services to residential, commercial and agricultural customers in the area.

The company will also continue to provide livestock feed operations, but will move that service to South Charleston, Secor said.

“While it has been a tough decision to make, with the employees and customers we have at our retail store, it is one we must make with the trend of decreasing feed retail sales,” Secor said in a letter sent to customers.
