Scattered showers, wind gusts over 35 mph and temperatures falling through the 40s is expected, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Dontae Jones. The chances of rain on Halloween night is isolated, but the wind chill is likely to be in the 30s.
Mayor Bill Bean did not want the trick-or-treaters out in this type of weather, the city’s administrative office said.

The city of Urbana contacted other Champaign County communities about their decision to change Beggar’s Night. The city’s administrative office said the other communities have not changed their original plans.
This means North Lewisburg, Mechanicsburg, and Woodstock will hold Beggar’s Night tonight.
Clark County communities including the city of Springfield, Enon, German Twp., Harmony Twp., Madison Twp., Mad River Twp., Moorefield Twp., Pike Twp., South Charleston and Springfield Twp. will also hold Beggar’s Night tonight as planned, Clark County Sheriff Deb Burchett said.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office in September moved Beggar’s Night to Halloween night instead of the long-standing date of the Saturday before Halloween to “keep consistent with neighboring communities,” according to a Sheriff’s office statement.
All Beggar’s Nights will be 6 to 8 p.m.
The city of Springfield reminds drivers to be prepared for heavy pedestrian traffic and encourages parents to check all candy before consumption.
The city also advises trick-or-treaters to travel in groups and stay on sidewalks.
On Halloween night, umbrellas and flashlights are encouraged. Trick-or-treaters should also wear warm shoes or rain boots because the grass and sidewalks will be wet and several layers because the weather will feel like winter, according to Storm Center 7 meteorologists.
