The store will temporally close today in order to move operations to its new location at 1718 E. Main St., next door to Title Max and Loans, on the corner of East Main and Howard streets.
“The new store is scheduled to re-open and resume business operations with the public no later than Friday,” said Terfehr.
The decision to move to the new location was a large part of the new business model which the store is adopting. The store will no longer have a dine-in experience for its customers. It is instead moving to a carry-out and delivery-only business.
The decision for making the change came from an evaluation based on the purchasing trends of the community.
“The store was having more carry-out and delivery orders than they were dine-in orders,” Terfehr said.
The other two Springfield Pizza Hut restaurants, 2955 Derr Rd. and 1930 N. Bechtle Ave., will not see a change in their current business model. They both continue to have a strong dine-in business as well as carry-out and delivery, Terfehr said.
The future of the building and property at 2501 East Main St. is unknown, according to Terfehr.
