Services set for 13-year-old driver killed in crash on Ohio 235

Funeral services have been announced for the 13-year-old girl killed in Thursday’s head-on crash on Ohio 235 near New Carlisle.

Visitation for Sky Lhamon will be at noon on Wednesday at Eichholtz, Daring and Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.

Lhamon’s burial will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.

Lhamon was killed Thurday evening in Clark County when the mini van she was driving crashed head-on into a semi truck carrying natural gas.

Ohio 235 was closed until early Friday morning after the crash.

At the time of the crash, Lhamon was in permanent custody of Shelby County Children Services.

Her foster mother reported her and the foster mother’s van missing from Sidney around 8 p.m. on Thursday. The crash happened in Pike Twp. close to 9 p.m.

Officials at Children Services said they didn’t know why Lhamon would take her foster mother’s van or why she would be in Clark County. They also said there wasn’t an immediate crisis that would prompt this kind of incident.

Lhamon loved basketball, music and reading, according to her obituary. She leaves behind two sisters, who are also in foster care.
