Services set for man who died in Buck Creek jet ski accident

Services have been set for the man who died in a possible drowning at CJ Reservoir at Buck Creek State Park.

A gathering with family and friends of Caleb Diviak, 22, is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Littleton and Rue Funeral Home. A celebration of his life is at 11 a.m. Saturday, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Grant Edwards officiating.

Diviak, 22, was unresponsive on Saturday afternoon when emergency personnel responded to his possible drowning. Diviak died Monday, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said.

A 911 call indicates Diviak fell off a jet ski at the Buck Creek Reservoir.

Diviak served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from March 3, 2014, until March 3, 2018. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal, E-3 and was a supply administrator. For his service, he received the selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

An obituary published online said he lived his life carefree and lovingly.

“Caleb had a wonderful sense of humor and was the life of the party,” his obituary says. “He had an infectious smile, was brave, strong, courageous and always a mamma’s boy. Caleb graduated from Springfield High School in 2014 and served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Most recently he was employed by KK Tool.”

He is remembered by a number of friends and family, the obituary stated.
