For people wanting to cover up regrowth or gray, Biggs recommends temporary powders and sprays.
Tom Thompson, owner of UBU Hair Studio said that people could also use mascara to help blend-in gray.
Thompson encourages women to pull their hair up and men to gel their hair back if they have hair that is “getting out of control.”
Overall, people should “reach out to their hair stylist and ask for advice if they are having problems right now - before they pick up some sort of weird color that they are going to be sorry for,” Thompson said.

On March 18, Gov. Mike DeWine announced that the Ohio Department of Health was ordering the temporary closure of barbershops, hair salons and tattoo parlors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When DeWine announced reopening plans, hair salons were not included.
“I did get a little fearful because I invested all my money in opening a business and trying to live an American dream,” Thompson said.
He added, “Things happen in life and sometimes it makes us slow down and look at ourselves in retrospect with the way technology and the world is going and sometimes you have to reinvent yourself.”
During the temporary closure, Thompson began adding to what he already offers. He said that he is planning to offer wellness services separate from the salon.
Both salon owners have used this time to clean and prepare for the unknown.
Biggs said she has cleaned, sanitized and remodeled areas in the salon.
“Just trying to be useful that way and make the time pass by remodeling and cleaning and making sure we are on top of things once we open,” Biggs said.

Once DeWine announces when hair salons can reopen, Biggs explained that she will begin pre-booking.
Biggs said her employees will use hospital grade sanitizer to wipe down their stations, disinfectant to clean throughout the salon, clean capes and towels for every client, masks and gloves.
“A lot of that stuff we have already been doing,” Biggs said. “We will just step it up a notch.”
She said that she is planning to ask customers what they are comfortable with as they begin to come in.
“Everybody’s different,” Biggs said. “Some people take it a lot more serious than others and I want to make sure everybody gets their respect that they deserve.”
Thompson said that his salon is planning to take similar precautionary steps. He said he is planning to change clothes between every client and diffuse essential oils to help purify the air.
“I am going to have to allot an extra 20 to 30 min between each person, so that is going to cut into the bottom line,” Thompson said.
Both salon owners said they have missed their clients and will be ready to reopen when they are given the go ahead.
“We really miss them and we love them all,” Biggs said. “We are doing our best to get back and we will do our best to get them back on our schedules once we do open - in the safest way we can.”
DeWine said more details about hair salons and barber shops will be available this week.
