Woman was lying on tracks when something hit her as train passed over her

A woman was lying between railroad tack rails when she was hit in the head with something as the CSX freight train passed over her, a Dayton fire official said.

Authorities are working to determine what hit her -- a piece of the train or an object that was sent airborne. The woman, believed to be in her 20s, has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident occurred near a homeless camp off Wagner Ford Road, where the woman apparently lives with at least a half-dozen people and two dogs, the fire official said.

The CSX freight train remains stopped as the investigation continues.
