Two accused of underage alcohol sales

Angel M. Hilterbrandt, 39, of 456 Weinland St., New Carlise, and Satvik Desai, 26, of 2014 Pacer Trail, Beavercreek, were each arrested on one charge of offenses involving underage persons on Nov. 3.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies conducted compliance checks at 16 businesses throughout Clark County in which undercover detectives used underage individuals to attempt to purchase alcohol.

Hilterbrandt was working at Richie’s Sunoco, 10846 Lower Valley Pike, while Desai was working at J.R. Party Dock, 2015 South Dayton-Lakeview Road. Selling alcohol to anyone younger than 21 is a first-degree misdemeanor in Ohio.

Woman struck in face with a glass cup

Emile D. Woodbridge, 32, of 1408 S. Fountain Ave., was arrested Saturday on a charge of felonious assault. According to a report from the Springfield Police Division, Woodbridge was accused of striking a woman in the face with a glass cup between 1:30 and 1:47 a.m. in the 200 block of East Cecil Street.

Domestic violence charge lodged

Christ A. Alfrey, 21, of 243 Chestnut Ave., was arrested Friday on charges of domestic violence and obstruction of official business.

According to a report by the Springfield Police Division, Alfrey was accused of assaulting a man he knew in his home between 11:40 and 11:54 p.m.

Woman accused of pushing, striking man

Mary C. Staigers, 40, of 1941 Pond Drive, was arrested Friday on a charge of domestic violence and was taken to the Clark County Jail.

According to a report by the Springfield Police Division, between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m., she was accused of pushing a man to the ground in her home and striking him in the face with a piece of wood.

Jewelry, CDs reported stolen

A woman in the 200 block of Stanton Avenue reported someone entered her home and stole jewelry, CDs and other merchandise valued at $850 between 7 and 11:29 p.m. Friday, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division.

Officers observed glass panels broken on two doors in the home.

Purse thief had knife, victim tells police

A woman told police she was walking north on Hubert Avenue near Lexington Avenue between 7:31 and 7:33 a.m. Saturday when a suspect threatened her with a knife and stole her purse.

The suspect was described as a male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a black knit hat.

Woman taken to hospital after attack

A woman was treated and released from the Springfield Regional Medical Center after she told police she was attacked near South Wittenberg Avenue and Washington Street.

A report from the Springfield Police Division showed the woman told police she was walking on South Wittenberg Avenue when a black, four-door car pulled up onto the side of the street. A suspect got out of the car and grabbed her from behind, striking her head on the car. The report said the suspect threw her to the ground and attacked her with a knife similar to a box cutter.

The victim escaped after she kicked him in the groin and fled.

Cash, camera reported stolen

A man in the 300 block of South Douglas Avenue reported someone entered his home between 6 p.m. Friday and 1:40 a.m. Saturday, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division.

Cash and a camera valued at $700 were reported missing, and police observed pry marks on a door facing the west side of the home.

Two televisions reported taken

A woman in the 400 block of Catherine Street reported someone broke into her home between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday, according to a report by the Springfield Police Division.
