Buy in was $5. The numbers were chosen through Auto Pick.
Johnson said they’ve been playing together as a group “for 10 to 15 years.” He bought the tickets at Ooh Ooh Drive Thru in Springfield on the way home from work.
One of the winners, Clarissa Davis, had the tickets and checked the numbers at 1 a.m.
“She knew we had a winning ticket and she couldn’t go back to sleep,” said Benson.
She told Benson on the Thursday morning after the drawing they had hit five numbers.
Benson said she’s going to save her winnings, estimated at about $37,000 each after taxes (about $52,000 each before taxes). Johnson said he was going to take a trip to Hawaii.
