The occupants of a vehicle that rolled onto its side after losing brake power were left with only minor injuries in a crash just after midnight at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and North Florence Street in Springfield.

According to police, the driver said that the van was traveling down the hill on North Florence Street when the brakes failed. Then, when the driver tried to make the turn onto Columbus Avenue, the vehicle rolled onto its side.
There were three children in the vehicle.
All the occupants of the van were left with only minor injuries, and had managed to climb out of the van by the time police arrived on scene.
