The three-level building offers multiple services that are needed in the area, Ross said.
“This facility, the budget for the facility, is roughly $15.9 million for just the building itself,” he said.
The remaining budget was used to develop the entire 12-acre parcel that the building sits on.
Officials hope it will be an economic development catalyst for other non-health-care related businesses to relocate to the area.
The project was funded by three sources. The hospital used operating cash flow and cash reserves it had, as well as a bond transaction worth $11 million. Mary Rutan also conducted a capital campaign, Ross said, with a goal of $2.5 million. Those funds were investments from local businesses, staff members and people from the community.

“We thought it was important to have the community be investors in this,” Ross said.
The first-floor of the new center houses an urgent care. It’s double the size of a convenience clinic that was on the main hospital campus. It also has a lab, pharmacy and a sports performance center.
The second floor offers services like speech, occupational and physical therapy. Those services had outgrown a building that was designed for roughly 90 patient visits a day but they have grown to almost 200 patients a day, Ross said.
The new center seeks to provide many services in one place, he said.
“We have a pharmacy. We have a laboratory for people who need lab draws. We can also do testing for urgent care visits,” Ross said.
The third floor is unused at this time. It will be developed in the future if there is a need for it.
Linnett Newland is a Mary Rutan patient who had surgery on her back almost two months ago. She started physical therapy three weeks ago. She’s happy that now she doesn’t have to go to several places to receive care.
She completes aquatic therapy on the first floor and then goes upstairs for physical therapy afterward.
“I would have to go someplace else to do the therapy where now I can do it all in one building,” Newland said.
The new site is receiving a lot praise, she said.
“People are really excited about it,” Newland said. “Everybody just drives by and says it is such a beautiful facility.”
