More than 100 people in New Carslisle still without power due to de-energized main line

UPDATE @ 12:45 a.m.:

A main line distribution feeder on Scarff Road and Butternut Drive de-energized Monday evening, according to DP&L.

At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, crews were on scene working to replace the pole.

According to the DP&L online outage page, approximately 119 customers are still without power.

INITIAL REPORT:

More than 2,000 Dayton Power & Light customers are without power south of New Carlisle, in Miami County, and we're working to find out what happened.

Outages were being called in about 6:14 p.m. and DP&L is estimating that power will be restored by 8 p.m.

According to the DP&L online outage page, approximately 2,083 customers are without power in Miami County.

We've heard reports of a blown transformer that caught fire. We're working to determine whether that is what led to the outage.

The fire on the pole was reported out about 7: 18 p.m., according police and fire radio dispatch.

We have placed calls to Ohio Edison as well as to DP&L.

We will update this report as we learn more.
