This photo shows employees and their spouses on Nov. 15, 1937 at the holiday banquet for the Motor Truck Drive Away Company.

Rather than driving transport trucks that held multiple vehicles, something that didn’t become common until later, drivers for the company were responsible for driving each newly built large motor truck around the country, delivering them to the companies that had purchased them.

This photo belonged to Springfielder Robert Nicewaner, assistant manager at the time, who was in charge of sending employees out on truck deliveries.
