Blanket collection drive under way
Eternal Life Ministries and Interfaith Hospitality Network are collecting good, clean sheets, blankets and pillows for the homeless in Springfield and Clark County.
The “Blankets of Blessings” collection will continue through Dec. 7. Donation containers are located downtown Springfield at Security National Bank, WesBanco, PNC Bank, Shawnee Place Apartments and at the Wood Forest bank inside the Walmart on Tuttle Road.

Emergency repair grants available
The Neighborhood Housing Partnership of Greater Springfield is accepting applications for emergency repair grants from eligible homeowners in the city.
The partnership assists with bidding repair projects to licensed contractors and monitors the construction projects. A typical qualifying project would be a single-item emergency, such as a leaking roof or inoperable furnace.

Road work for the week
Upper Valley Pike: Construction continues on Upper Valley Pike, between U.S. Route 40 and Cottonwood Ave. in conjunction with the widening project. Traffic lanes remain shifted this week, onto the west half of the roadway. Two lane two direction traffic way will be maintained, expect delays.
Moorefield Twp.: Crews will be paving on Bosart Road, E. County Line Road, Twitchell Road and Grant Road. Bosart Road will be paved under traffic, while E. County Line, Twitchell and Grant roads will be closed to through traffic while being paved.
Springfield Twp.: Crews will be paving on Grant Road and Redmond Road. The roads will be closed to through traffic while being paved. Construction on Hillside Ave in front of Warder Wayne Elementary School continues. Traffic will be maintained at all times.
Hilldale Road: Crews will be installing a storm sewer, some delay possible during work hours.
Fairfield Pike: Bridge project is currently on schedule and through traffic will be detoured until the project is completed. The anticipated completion date is Nov. 11. staff report
