Leprechaun, bagpipes highlight St. Patrick’s Day events in Springfield

Irish pubs in Springfield are hosting all-day parties beginning Friday morning as part of their annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.

McMurray’s Irish Pub and Paddy’s Pizza will have both a leprechaun and bagpipe players at 9 a.m.

Attendees will be able to take a selfie with a “professional leprechaun” at its 625 N. Limestone St. location, according to the restaurant’s owners. It will also have buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner with traditional food.

O'Conner's Irish Pub, 2200 N. Limestone St., will have Celtic dancers and bag pipes beginning at 10 a.m. The restaurant will also have an all-you-can-eat buffet from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

BlackThorn & Laurel will perform (10 a.m.) and will be followed by The Temps (noon to 4 p.m.) and NineVolt (6 to 10 p.m.). Cover charge is $10.
