Kenton Ridge band heads to New York

The Kenton Ridge High School marching band is headed to New York City to perform in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The band is taking off this evening on 10 commercial Greyhound buses.

Senior citizens at Forest Glen Health Campus next door are doing a balloon launch to celebrate. The residents and students in Leo’s Club at the school are giving goody bags to the band members.

The bus leaves at 7 p.m., officials said. Residents are invited for the sendoff at 5 p.m. today.
