The Calypso Grill and Smokehouse at 1535 Xenia Ave. will offer pickup through its newly refurbished drive-through window from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, starting at 4 p.m. today, Friday April 10, according to Shaun Craig, the restaurant's manager.

“We are offering a full cocktail menu as well as dinner menu for delivery and drive-through,” Craig said.
The restaurant had been offered carryout seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week before closing April 1.

“We had always planned on reopening once we were able to accommodate our service in a manner that is focused on safety for our staff and our customers,” Craig said. “We now offer a drive-through window and online ordering to minimize contact and have implemented many new procedures that support minimizing exposure. We recommend call-ahead ordering if using the drive-through.”

Brian Rainey, owner of the Sunrise Cafe in Yellow Springs, opened Calypso Grill and Smokehouse in March 2018 in space that previously housed Dona Margarota's, a Mexican restaurant that shut down the previous year. The restaurant specializes in Jamaican and other Caribbean dishes.
