A homeopathic flu treatment is flying off the shelves of health food stores here in the Miami Valley and around the country.
Oscillo, or oscillococcinum, is touted as a temporary relief of flu-like symptoms such as body aches, fever, chills, fatigue and headache, according to Boiron, the manufacturer’s, website.
It comes in a tube and is taken orally.
According to WebMD, there is no reliable evidence that taking oscillococcinum can prevent the flu. However, in people with flu symptoms, there is some evidence that oscillococcinum might help people get over the flu faster by 6 or 7 hours.
News Center 7 consumer reporter Rachel Murray will find out how and if Oscillo works and what you need to know tonight on WHIO-TV at 5pm.
