Gun show, Apple Butter Festival among things to do in Clark, Champaign counties

Clark County:

Gun Show

The C&E Gun Show is back, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 South Charleston Pike in Springfield.

The gun show will have several exhibitors selling supplies for shooting sports.

Admission is $9 for adults. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Attendees who pay for Saturday admission can attend Sunday for free with a hand-stamp.

Apple Butter Festival

Enon Apple Butter Festival, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 120 S. Xenia Dr. in Enon, will feature old-fashioned apple butter, demonstrations of apple butter production, food vendors, crafts, and entertainment.

Fall Fest

Fall Fest at Snyder Park, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, will feature hay rides, food, vendors, games, arts, and entertainment.

Snyder Park is located at 1900 Park St. in Springfield.

Admission and parking is free.

Wizard’s Ball

The Wizard’s Ball is 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Heritage Center of Clark County, 117 S. Fountain Ave. in Springfield.

Attendees are encouraged to wear dress robes, costumes, or semi-formal attire to explore the museum, take wizard classes, play games, and dance.

This event is for adults 21 and older. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com.

Un Mundo Cafe will provide a cash bar with specialty drinks like butter beer.

Champaign County:

Public Auction

A public auction will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Champaign County Fairgrounds, Michael’s Building, 384 Park Ave. in Urbana.

The auction will feature guns, motorcycles, boats, archery items, instruments, and furniture.

Concert Series

The 1858 Concert Series hosted by the Champaign County Preservation Alliance is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the 1858 Meeting House, 43 E. Sandusky St. in Mechanicburg. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The Nisleys, a family gospel bluegrass group, will perform. The group has recently recorded a CD.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and kids 12 and under are free. Tickets will be sold at the door will all proceeds benefitting the preservation and maintenance of the 1858 Meeting House.
