Glismann, who will make $104,000 annually, was given a three-year contract after he was selected from an initial field of 17 candidates.
His first step, he said, will be to get acquainted with the district and begin meeting with his staff. He said he had heard positive comments about the district from colleagues, and decided it would be a good fit after initial meetings with board members.
“It seemed like they would be a good group to work with,” he said.
Alan Mitchell, one of Graham’s school board members, said Glismann stood out from other candidates in part because of his previous experience and because he provided more detailed responses during the interview process.
Board members also said it will be beneficial to have Zerkle on in an advisory role while Glismann becomes more familiar with the job. The district is undergoing several changes, including a high school renovation project.
Glismann said he looks forward to working with Zerkle.
“I think he’ll be a very good resource,” Glismann said.
