Eight things to do this weekend in Clark, Champaign counties

Clark County: 

MustardFest 

The Woeber Mustard Company is presenting MustardFest, 6:30 p.m. Friday and noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mother Stewart’s Brewing Co., 109 W. North St. in Springfield.

The festival will feature a mustard cook-off, kids activities, several exhibitors, a wiener dog race, and live music.

Horror Acres 

A Top 10 Haunt, Horror Acres, 6995 Springfield-Jamestown Rd. in Springfield, opens this weekend.

Hours of operation will be 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Friday-Saturday until Oct. 26.

Admission is $16 for Horror Acres, $10 for the Maze of Insanity, or $20 for both.

Springfield Extravaganza

The Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market will offer over 2,000 vendors, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Clark County Fairgrounds, 4401 S. Charleston Pike in Springfield.

Admission is $10 per day. Attendees can buy tickets good for the entire weekend 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday for $15.

Over 40 food vendors will be at the event.

Farmers market

The Springfield Farmers Market, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Heritage Center Museum, 117 S. Fountain Ave. in Springfield will feature more than 35 vendors, live music, food trucks, and cooking demos.

Champaign County: 

Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival 

A variety of seafood will be available at the Ohio Fish & Shrimp Festival, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Freshwater Farms of Ohio, 2624 N. U.S. 68 in Urbana.

Freshly harvested shrimp will be sold on ice 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free for children ages 2 and under, $2 for ages 3-12, and $5 for adults. This year, attendees who dress in a costume related to the festival will receive free admission. Parking is free.

The festival offers live music, a petting zoo, bounce houses, the farm’s retail store, and fish displays.

Tom Wopat at Goshen Memorial Park

The 150th anniversary of Goshen Memorial Park, 4261 S. Parkview Rd. in Mechanicburg, is noon to 6 p.m. Saturday.

The anniversary event will feature Tom Wopat, an actor from The Dukes of Hazzard television show, singing at 4 p.m. Wopat will be available for pictures and meet and greets before his performance.

Food, craft vendors, live performances, historic displays, and antique cars and tractors will be at this event.

Farmers market

The St. Paris Farmers Market, 2:30 p.m to 6 p.m. Friday in front of the municipal building, 135 W. Main St. in St. Paris will feature vendors selling fresh produce, local meat, honey, crafts, flowers, and homemade goods.
