“I like getting eggs and eating eggs,” said Deb Cobuitt, a fifth-grader at the school. “And chocolate bunnies. They’re always so big!”
The Akbar Temple No. 41 invited the bunny to make a visit and passed out plastic eggs full of stickers and candy to each of the students.
Knowing not every child has the opportunity to celebrate Easter, temple Potentate Richard Eichie said it’s important that they make it memorable. This is the third year they’ve stopped at Perrin Woods.
“We wanted to make sure we could reach each and every kid before they went on break,” he said. “It’s a joy.”
Kids cheered as the bunny made rounds at each of the classrooms. He had to duck to make it through the doorways, prompting students to comment on how this Easter Bunny compared to those they’ve seen in the past.
“I loved the bunny because I (saw) one at the grocery store. It was smaller,” said Neila Mills, a kindergartner.
Champion Lodge will make a similar visit at Fulton Elementary School today.
