Clark State named top military friendly school for second year

Clark State Community College has been named as one of the Nation’s Top Military Friendly Schools for the second consecutive year, according the college.

“For the second year in a row, Clark State has been a Top Ten Military Friendly School,” Diana Seaman, registrar at Clark State said in a news release. “This year we are ranked number four out of 10 in the nation and the only Ohio school to receive the top-ten designation in the small community college category.”

The list of final ratings, identified by VIQTORY, a veteran owned business that connects the military community to civilian opportunities, are determined combining the college’s survey scores and the ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence, and loan default rates for students, the release says.

“Supporting our veteran and military student populations continues to be a top priority for Clark State,” Seaman said.

Clark State has received other military awards, including Top School in the 2018 Military Advanced Education & Transition Guide to Colleges & Universities, designation as a Purple Heart Campus in 2015, and was approved as the first community college in Ohio by the Community College of the Air Force as a General Education Mobile partner.

Clark State also offers a 50% tuition discount to active duty military students and a 25% discount to eligible spouses. To be eligible for the discounted tuition, potential students must present active orders or a military ID (for National Guard and Reserves only) to the Cashier’s Office.
