The Clark County Dog Shelter is offering reduced-rate dog adoptions until the end of the year.

From now until the end of the year, every dog at the Clark County Dog Shelter can be adopted for $77. The adoption price covers alteration, vaccinations, worming, microchips and a 2020 dog license.

“This year, don’t bring a dog home for the holidays, bring them home for life,” a post on the Clark County Dog Shelter’s Facebook said. “Adopt a dog that needs a chance, a home of their very own, and a family to love.”

Normally an adoption at the dog shelter cost between $150 and $175, depending on additional costs for things like spaying or neutering and shots, Clark County spokesperson Michael Cooper said.

“So $77 is a pretty good deal,” Cooper said.

Clark County recently increased the price of a dog license for 2020 in order to deal with the steady increase in strays the county has seen.

The Clark County Dog Shelter is located at 5201 Urbana Rd. in Springfield. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The shelter is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.
