Clark County Commission OKs resolution banning display, sale of Confederate flag at Fairgrounds

The Board of Clark County Commissioners has approved a resolution to send a letter to the Board of Directors of the Clark County Agricultural Society encouraging them to adopt a policy banning the display and sale of confederate flags at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

The resolution, which was approved today, would include banning the sale or display of any culturally insensitive products, including the Confederate flag, at the fairground.

The Board of Directors of the Clark County Agricultural Society will now decide whether or not to adopt the policy the commission has suggested.

If the board chooses to adopt the policy, it would take effect immediately, meaning it could be in place by the time the 2020 Clark County Fair begins on July 25.
