Birth certificates can be issued to all Ohioans

The Champaign Health District can now issue birth certificates for everyone born in Ohio.

Mary Collier, the district vital statistics registrar, and Michele Carnes, deputy registrar, have completed all the requirements necessary to allow the district to issue birth certificates from its offices at 1512 S. U.S. 68 in Urbana.

Previously, certificates could only be issued for individuals born in Champaign County. Certificates or birth extracts are available at the health district from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for $21.50. They can also be purchased online at www.vitalcheck.com, but there is an additional processing fee of $7.50. Overnight delivery is available for an additional charge. For more information call Mary Collier at (937) 484-1607.
