A youth soccer tournament this weekend will mean extra traffic in Beavercreek, but also extra dollars.

Officials said the 21st Annual Creek Classic on Saturday and Sunday is a competitve event for boys and girls ages 8-17. It is conducted at Ankeney Soccer Complex, which includes more than 30 playing fields.

The tourney is expected to bring an estimated 7,000 people into the city. Traffic issues may occur on U.S. 35 throughout the weekend.

Officials said the event, which is considered one of the largest in the country, could generate as much as $3.5 million for the area.

Storms are expected at times throughout the tournament weekend, according to WHIO-TV’s meteorologists. Due to the possibility of severe weather, lightning sensors will be at the soccer fields.
