American flags burn in tribute for Flag Day

Flag Day was observed today across the United States by burning Old Glory in tribute.

New Carlisle was among communities to hold ceremonies.

Proper flag etiquette requires an old, tattered and worn American flag to be folded into its traditional triangle and then burned while “Taps” is played and people salute. The ashes are then buried, according to the American Legion.
