After muggy night, expect hot, humid weekend

DETAILED FORECAST

Overnight: Expect clear skies and a warm, muggier night, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell said. Temperatures will hold around 70 degrees in the morning.

Saturday: Mostly sunny skies will start the weekend but temperatures will soar into the lower 90s by afternoon. The humidity will build, making it feel more like 100 degrees by late afternoon. A few more clouds are expected to arrive late in the day. An Air Quality Alert is in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. for Butler and Warren counties.

Sunday: It will be another very warm day with partly cloudy skies. Pop-up showers and storms are expected to develop, mainly late in the day and early evening. Highs will be around 90 degrees.

Monday: Lots of clouds are in the forecast along with numerous showers and storms, especially during the afternoon. A few strong storms along with locally heavy rainfall will be possible. Highs will top out in the upper 80s.

Tuesday: There is a chance for early morning showers with clearing skies in the afternoon. A little less heat and humidity is expected with highs in the middle 80s.

Wednesday: A more comfortable day is in the forecast under mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the lower 80s with lower humidity.
