“We appreciate the assistance of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and their presence at the school today,” Anthony said in a statement. “We are following their recommendations, including monitoring the restrooms.”
Greenon Junior/Senior High School was evacuated Thursday night after a discovery of “vandalism that included a vague reference to a potential threat.”
“Law enforcement determined that there was no credible threat to our learning environment,” Anthony wrote in a statement.
She said the school district is committed to the safety of its students.
Sheriff’s deputies responded around 7 p.m. Thursday to the school, 3950 Tecumseh Road, which closed its doors and canceled all evening activities after the threat was found. Deputies searched the building and grounds but found no credible threat.
A “One Call” alert was made to Greenon families Thursday night about the incident.
Greenon was set to host a football game Friday night. Anthony said police presence at football games is normal.
